INTRODUCTION
Today I will show you how to make Thailand's most famous dessert, mango sticky rice. In Thai, Khao Niew Ma Muang. Khao Niew means sticky rice, and Ma Muang means mango. It is an easy sweet, sour recipe, but rich with flavor and one of my favorite recipes. You can serve it with fresh, ripe mango on top of mung bean.
Origin of Sticky Rice
This easy, sweet sticky rice mango recipe can be found in Southeast Asia. But it is particularly associated with Thailand and Laos and is consumed mostly in the northeastern part of Thailand. although the precise origin of mango with sticky rice is not yet clear. According to historians, it was founded in the fourteenth century.
The Specialty Of Mango Sticky Rice
The best feature of it is that it goes well with fresh, ripe mangoes. With the fresh, sweet, and sour taste of mangoes, the hot, sticky rice makes the best version of the dessert.
Mango sticky rice ingredients
You only need five ingredients to make the best and most authentic mango sticky rice.
- 3 cups of sticky rice
- 3 cups of water
- 250g sugar
- 1/2 cup salt
- 300 g of coconut milk
Preparing Method
Level 1:
Bring the rice to a boil, soak the rice in water, and wash them. Now strain the rice and add it to a rice cooker. And add 3 cups of water over it. After 20 minutes, take your rice out of the cooker.
Level 2:
- Take a pan and add sugar, salt, and coconut milk to it. Mix them well. Now turn on your flame and boil them on a medium flame until the sugar melts.
- Add your boiled rice to the pan, mix it well with the existing ingredients, and make a thick paste.
- Now cover the pan with the lid and let it rest for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, serve the sticky rice with bite-size pieces of chopped mango in a dish. Sprinkle some mung beans on top of the sticky rice. If you do not want to add mung beans, you can substitute them with white sesame or peanuts.
